The Saskatoon Fire Department responded to multiple fires in the early morning hours on Saturday that were deemed suspicious.
The first call was in the 3100 block of 33rd Street West for a dumpster fire at 12:20. The fire was extinguished and damage is estimated at $500.
The second call was at 1:07 a.m. when firefighters responded to the 500 block of Avenue H South for another dumpster fire. Damage is also estimated at $500.
Then at 1:49, fire crews responded to a fence on fire in the 600 block of Avenue K South. Damage is estimated at $200.
The fourth call was at 2:26 a.m. when a shed was fire in the 800 block of Avenue H South. Two fire engines responded along with the Battalion Chief who had been searching for suspicious activity or persons. Once fire crews arrived they found the shed fully involved in fire and two nearby vehicles also caught flame. Damage is estimated at $25,000.
The fire investigator believes all fires were started using an open flame device such as a torch.
On Thursday, fire crews also responded to a garage fire in the 900 block of Avenue H South that caused $5000 dollars in damage. That fire has also been deemed suspicious.
