The search for a missing five-year-old boy in Saskatchewan has come to an end.

In a post on social media late Saturday night, Chief Fabian Head of the Red Earth Cree Nation wrote “It is with a heavy heart that I announce the discovery of Frank Young.”

The statement says his remains were found in the water at Red Earth Cree Nation.

Frank was reported missing on April 19th. He last seen around noon that day playing in the front yard of his home. The RCMP previously said he may have been spotted at a local playground later that afternoon.

Hundreds of volunteers helped in the search alongside police and search and rescue teams.

Police did not believe he was abducted.

Chief Head said more details will be released during a planned media conference.
