Saskatoon fire crews responded to yet another suspicious fire on Saskatoon’s westside.

This time a blaze on the second floor of a three storey townhouse complex located in the Westview neighbourhood that happened around 10 o’clock Saturday night.

Utility services were shut off for safety reasons and a number of used needles were found in the suite so firefighters used caution while they put out the blaze.

The fire was brought under control by 10:25 p.m.

the investigation has revealed the unit was vacant but not secured. Someone was in the suite around 6:30 p.m. prior to the blaze. It’s not known when the person or persons left the unit.

The origin of the fire was in the bedroom and damage is estimated at $75,000 dollars.
