Environment Canada’s heat warning was cancelled last night, but it’s back, and this time for most of the southern half of the province, as opposed to the western half. Daytime highs of 32 and higher, with overnight lows near 16 are forecast to spread throughout the south over the coming days and through the weekend. With the heat and the humidity, humidex values are expected to reach around 35 in some areas over the next 3 days. As the heat builds into Saskatchewan tomorrow, Environment Canada advises to expect heat warnings to spread to encompass much of southern Saskatchewan.
In the far north, around Wollaston Lake, Collins Bay, Cree Lake and Key Lake areas, there are special air quality statements in effect because of wildfire smoke.
