Saturday was a hot day which had many people out at the beach enjoying the summer heat well into this morning (sun).
The Saskatoon Fire Department executed a water rescue near Poplar Bluffs around 10:30 last night (sat) after a group of people reported one of their members missing.
The group had been floating near three sand bars when they lost a member.
Once SFD crews arrived on scene, the RCMP were already present and the SFD boat was launched onto the river. The Saskatoon Police Service searched the area from the air with their plane.
The crew in the SFD boat found a person in the river with water up to their neck at 10:58 p.m. The person did not require any medical attention.
Then shortly after 3;30 this morning (sun), the fire department returned to Poplar Bluffs after the RCMP had been searching for two missing people who were found stranded on a sand bar. The water rescue team assisted the two individuals by safely returning them to the shore. No one was injured.
