Every year, there has to be at least one. Somebody steals a poppy box. This time, it was at a business on the 39 hundred block of 50th Avenue in Lloydminster. RCMP say, early Monday morning, a man entered the store, grabbed the donation box, and ran off while being chased by staff. Constable Grant Kirzinger says, “This is a huge fundraiser for those men and women who put their lives on the line for our safety.” He says, “It’s unbelievable that someone would steal the poppy box.” The man was wearing a black ‘VANS” hat, black and white track-style pants, and had white sunglasses around his neck.
