You can help to warm the hearts of pet owners struggling to make ends meet and those struggling with homelessness and the paws of their pets. The Saskatchewan SPCA has launched Warming Hearts & Paws and is looking for donations of new and gently used pet care items and accessories, for instance coats, boots, and pet food. Spokesperson Josh Hourie says not only does it allow people to provide care for their pets, for some it means they can keep their best friends with them. It can also provide opportunities for those less fortunate to pick up something that otherwise would be too much of a luxury, like a pet bed. Donations are accepted at all 5 Critters Pet Stores in Saskatoon as well the Saskatchewan SPCA office on 45th Street West and will be distributed by the Saskatoon Friendship Inn and the Saskatoon Food Bank Clothing Depot. The program has also expanded to the Prince Albert Food Bank and at the Battlefords Humane Society. Donations are being accepted through December 15th.
