Fresh from graduation, 15 new firefighter-paramedics will start their first shifts with the Saskatoon Fire Department (S-F-D) on Monday.

The 2022 graduating class was welcomed to the S-F-D Friday in a private ceremony, which recognized the successful completion of comprehensive training programs. The 15 newcomers were also presented with their badges and battalion assignments. E-M-S incidents make up over 40 per cent of S-F-D’s response, making the recruits’ Primary Care Paramedic certification a valuable asset to the fire service.
