SaskPower has begun the process of adding two new natural gas turbines to the province. Ermine Power Station, located near Kerrobert, and Yellowhead Power Station, located near North Battleford, will both receive one simple-cycle gas turbine to add to their sites. The new turbines each will generate forty six megawatts which is enough power for around forty six thousand homes. Both turbines will be in service by late 2025.
