Pope Francis will meet the Prime Minister and other officials later this afternoon (Wed) at The Plains of Abraham, which is an historic area within the Battlefields Park in Quebec City. The public gathering on the site continues from 1:30 until around 7 in the evening, with Indigenous and non-Indigenous artists on stage from a wide variety of cultural and spiritual backgrounds.
On Thursday morning, the Pope travels to Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré, where he will celebrate Mass at one of the oldest and most popular pilgrimage sites in North America,
He then meets with bishops, priests, deacons, seminarians, and other Catholic leader, as is customary with most papal visits, and it will be held at s at Notre-Dame Cathedral Basilica. He has two more meetings in Quebec City Friday morning and then it’s off to Iqaluit for a meeting with former residential school students, and then a community event hosted by Inuit. Then he heads back to Rome.
