The Regina Police Service is currently looking for new recruits to fulfill their new 30 X 30 initiative with the goal of having 30 per cent female officers in the police service by the year 2030.
Last year, the RPS had 24.8 per cent female representation in sworn officer positions.
Chief Evan Bray and Deputy Chief (Operations) Lorilee Davies unveiled the 30 X 30 Initiative and a new recruiting website earlier this summer June27).
The Initiative also asks police services to examine their practices and policies to determine if there are any barriers to women on the force. One of the Regina Police Services first steps in adopting a “30 X 30” was to survey current female police officers to gain some insights that may help to identify and remove those barriers.
