The latest from Saskatchewan’s Wildfire map shows 19 fires are burning in Saskatchewan with one fire not contained and it is east of Denare Beach near the Saskatchewan/Manitoba boundary.

There have been 307 forest fires to date in the province this year and the five year average is 293. In seven of the fires which are actively burning there are efforts being made to protect cabins and infrastructure.

More than 300 properties in the southern Okanagan have been evacuated due to a growing wildfire southwest of Pentiction, BC. There are approximately 400 more on alert.

The fire has grown to more than 22 square kilometres since it was first reported on Friday.

Officials say an unoccupied cabin has been destroyed. While today has a forecast high of 35 degrees for the area, the weather may prove advantageous as the week progresses with a cooler forecast in the works.
