(The second quarter-final goes tomorrow with the Saskatchewan Rattlers visiting the Scarborough Shooting Stars at 1 p.m. The quarter-final winners advance to the final four next weekend in Ottawa.)

The 2022 Canada Summer Games start today with the Opening Ceremony in Ontario’s Niagara region and runs until Sunday, August 21st. Saskatchewan will have a full team compliment of 488 participants. The breakdown is 377 athletes and 86 coaches for the 19 sports, plus 25 mission staff coming from 70 different communities in the province. Week 1 sports will be baseball, basketball, beach volleyball, women’s box lacrosse, mountain cycling, rugby sevens, men’s soccer, women’s softball, swimming, tennis, triathlon and wrestling.
