If you happened to notice the Hazmat team on Betts Avenue this morning – it was Saskatoon Fire fighters and the Emergency Management Organization investigating a suspicious package containing an unknown substance.
The call came in from a commercial retail warehouse at 225 Betts Avenue and the affected area was confined to the back shipping and receiving room.
Saskatoon Police restricted entry tot he building and all customers who had been shopping at the time were instructed to shelter in place. All test produced negative results and the package was deemed non-hazardous. There is no risk to public safety and the matter has been left with the Saskatoon Police Service.
