A 57-year-old Maple Creek man charged following a fatal two-vehicle collision near the community in October of 2018 has received a ten year prison sentence.
Ronald Plummer pleaded guilty to manslaughter and aggravated assault.
He was arrested over three months after the accident that closed Highway 21 north of Maple Creek for several hours,
50-year-old Lesa Zoerb was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Maple Creek woman was driving one of the vehicles while the 55-year-old man driving the other was flown to hospital in Regina with life-threatening injuries.
Police added the aggravated assault charge after learning about an assault earlier that day.
Plummer’s sentence will be reduced by just over a year because of time served.
