Saskatoon Police arrested two people and a firearm was seized after a suspicious vehicle was found to be displaying a stolen license plate.

On Thursday around 7 o’clock evening, officers saw a suspicious vehicle that was believed to be involved in a previous mischief matter heading down 20th Street near Avenue P. The vehicle was then spotted again in a parking lot nearby. A passenger was also found inside the vehicle. While police questioned the two, the driver attempted to flee on foot, although the two were arrested and a firearm was located inside the vehicle.

Further investigation led to seizure of an AR-styled .22 calibre firearm and other various ammunition along with a stolen license plate, an empty magazine and a stolen Jeep.

A 38-year-old Saskatoon man and a 25-year-old Saskatoon woman are facing multiple charges in relation to the incident.
