Saskatoon is geared up and ready to celebrate the diverse cultures of the city with performances, displays, activates and cuisines. For the next three days Folkfest will be in full swing around the city. There will be 11 pavilions in total at Prairieland Park, Merlis Belsher Place, the Nutana Curling Club and the Saskatoon Indian Metis Friendship Centre.
This years Folkfest will also see the introduction of a new collaborative venue at Merlis Belsher called the International Place. It will be the home to the Cameroon, Japan, and Nepal Pavilions in addition to being the entertainment hub for the festival. International Place stage is welcoming performances from the Asia Pacific, Central America and Mexico, German, Norway, and Scottish pavilions. They will be joined Special guests, The Sound of Afghanistan and USask Confucius Institute Student Club.
Tickets for Folkfest are available online at saskatoonfolkfest.com. They are 15 dollars for a three day pass with children 12 and under getting free admission.
Things get started tonight (Thurs) at 5:00pm and will wrap up at midnight. It’s the same for Friday, and Saturday is 3 p.m. to midnight.
