The council for the Rural Municipality of Blucher passed a bylaw that goes into effect after midnight—Friday, August 19.

All burning permits have been suspended and fireworks are also banned in the rural municipality southeast of the city.

Very dry conditions have also prompted the Rural Municipality of Vanscoy, southwest of Saskatoon, to also pass a ban on open fires.
