Describing it as a homicide investigation, Prince Albert Police say they were notified last Wednesday (Aug 17) of an assault that took place involving two residents of a care home in the 700 Block of 28th Street East in Prince Albert.

The actual assault took place the prior Sunday and an 85 year old woman was taken to hospital. At the time police were alerted about the situation, the woman was in serious condition and passed away last Friday from injuries suffered five days earlier.

A 76-year-old woman has been identified as a suspect, however no arrests have been made while the Prince Albert Police Service’s Criminal Investigation Division continues to investigate.
