The Saskatoon Police Service says members of their Serious Assault Unit are investigating an early morning shooting.

Police were called about a woman being shot and injured outside of a home, around 3:30 a.m., in the 100 block of Avenue M South.

When patrol officers arrived they found a 25 year old woman with what appeared to be a non-life threatening injury. She told police that she was approached by people who shot her and then fled the scene.
A patrol officer in the area when the shooting occurred also saw a suspicious vehicle near the scene. That vehicle was tracked down, abandoned, at St. Paul’s Place. The blue Pontiac Sunfire had been stolen from North Battleford.
