With the Labour Day long weekend beginning, the provincial government is reminding drivers to keep safety in mind. Plan ahead, slow down, and obey reduced speed limits in work zones.
Minister of Highways, Jeremy Cockrill expects there will be a lot of people heading to Regina for the Labour Day Classic. There are ongoing construction projects near the Queen City including the Highway 11 bridge repairs on the southbound lanes through Lumsden, and the Highway 11 over Highway 6 overpass construction just north of Regina. Cockrill reminds everyone that speeding fines triple when workers are present.
The Ministry is improving more than 1,100 kilometres of provincial highways this year.
