Regina’s Police Chief says information received on Tuesday leads them to believe Myles Sanderson may no longer be in Regina. Chief Evan Bray notes that Regina has been involved in the investigation of the multiple stabbing attacks on the James Smith Cree Nation and in Weldon since Sunday morning when there was reliable information that Sanderson could be in the city. Bray says as a result, the investigations continue, but the search has expanded into other areas of the province.
He explains that while investigative work is being done, it isn’t always visible to the public. Officers in patrol cars is not all of it. A lot has to do with specialized investigative units, tech crime investigators, and specialized plan clothes investigators and analysts trying to fit the pieces together to solve these crimes as quickly as possible. He urges anyone with information to contact the police.
Bray understands it has been a very stressful time for Saskatchewan, and he thanks everyone who has contacted the police. He says the situation needs to be resolved so police can finish the investigation, which will help a community heal from this very tragic situation.
