In keeping with Wednesday night’s announcement from the Saskatchewan R-C-M-P, the Saskatoon Police Service will conduct an investigation of their own into the death of Myles Sanderson while he was in Saskatchewan R-C-M-P custody on Wednesday afternoon.
The S-P-S’s Major Crimes Section will conduct the investigation, in cooperation with the Saskatchewan Serious Incident Response Team. Because of the complexity of the investigation, there is no timeline for its anticipated completion. When the investigation is completed, the findings will be sent to the Ministry of Justice and the Attorney General. The province will also be appointing two independent investigative observers.
