The University of Saskatchewan Huskies football season came to a disappointing conclusion with a 29-4 loss in the Hardy Cup to the host University of Calgary Dinos.
It was a tale of two halves. In the first half, neither offence could find the end zone as Saskatchewan conceded a pair of safeties and had to settle for a rouge off of a missed Field Goal and the teams went into the locker room with Calgary leading the Huskies 4-1.
In the second half, Calgary broke the bubble when Adam Sinagra found Tyson Philpot in the end zone for a 30 yard Touchdown reception, to make it 11-1 Calgary.
David Solie replied with a 28 yard field-goal to cut into the lead, 11-4 Calgary. That would be all of the scoring for Saskatchewan as Josiah Joseph, on in relief of the injured Adam Sinagra, would plunge into the end zone from 1 yard out. While Niko DiFonte added a 37 yard field-goal to make the final 29-4 Calgary.
The Dinos will now host McMaster in next weekend’s Mitchell Bowl.
