A nurse practitioner says the provincial government needs to overhaul what she calls an inadequate health care staffing plan. Jenna-Lee Hostin spoke this afternoon (Friday) at a news conference called by NDP Leader Carla Beck. Hostin says the government is refusing to consult with health care providers, who have been open and willing to talk. She adds there are solutions that could be deployed immediately, including better use of nurse practitioners. Beck agrees saying the government needs to listen to employees to establish a recruitment and retention program.
