One win, and they’re likely in!
The beleaguered Saskatchewan Roughriders returned to the practice field Monday, preparing to visit Hamilton this Friday. The Green and White have lost four straight games and are 6-9 overall, but a victory over the Tiger-Cats would set the Riders up to finish fourth in the West Division and clinch a cross-over C-F-L playoff spot in the East Division. Should Saskatchewan win for the first time since late August, the best the Ticats, Edmonton or Ottawa could do would be to tie them in the standings…assuming they run the table the rest of the way! Media reports from the Mosaic Stadium sidelines today had Shaq Cooper, newly-signed B-J Emmons and injured Jamal Morrow all taking handoffs from quarterbacks at the running back spot, but Cooper was taking the first-team reps. Receiver Duke Williams and linebacker Darnell Sankey were non-participants.
