October 4th is the National Day of Action for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls and Gender Diverse People. The Prince Albert Police Service has chosen this day to launch a new video to appeal for information to find Happy Charles, who has been missing since April of 2017. The Police Service says in a news release it’s in honour of all those who have been impacted by violence and to raise awareness about those who have been murder or are still missing.
Happy’s parents, Regina and Carson Poitras, and her four daughters, Ariel, Aleisha, Margaret, and Marcia participated in the video. Surveillance footage, which is included in the video, shows Happy Charles at Prince Albert Collegiate Institute around midnight on April 3rd of 2017.
Sgt. Kathy Edwardsen with the Historical and Missing Persons section of the Prince Albert Police Service, says, “Someone knows what happened to Happy Charles. Someone has the information we need and we need them to come forward to help Happy’s family find closure. Anyone with information is asked to contact the police or leave a tip anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
