In the week leading up to Tuesday, Battleford RCMP responded to 614 calls for service. That’s an average of just under 88 calls a day. One of those, was a 911 call on October 1st from a home in Cochin about an assault.

When officers arrived, the victim said she was assaulted by a man known to her, and not allowed to leave for several hours. The suspect fled when he learned she was able to make a call to police. A 42 year old man was found later that day and arrested without incident. He is charged with assault and forcible confinement.

There were 12 break and enter investigations during that week. In one incident, officers responded to a break and enter at a business in the 1900 block of 100th Street in North Battleford around 5 in the morning on Monday. One of the items stolen was a PIN pad machine. There were also 35 assaults, four impaired driving calls and 12 mental health investigations.
