Connor Ungar did an impersonation of Harrison Meneghin, only better, and the Saskatoon Blades were the victims again!
The Bridge City Bunch out-shot the Warriors 32-13 over the final two periods Wednesday, but the 20-year-old Ungar allowed just one goal as Moose Jaw skated away with a 3-1, home-ice triumph. Overall, the Blue and Gold held a 41-22 advantage on the Moose Jaw Events Centre shot clock, one night after the Blades out-shot Lethbridge 29-21 – only to be thwarted by Meneghin in his first W-H-L start. Ungar lost his shutout bid with 3:48 remaining in the third period when Conner Roulette buried Egor Sidorov’s rebound for Roulette’s first goal with Saskatoon. Ungar was especially sharp on the Bridge City Bunch’s power play, stopping 13 shots on five Blue and Gold man advantages. Both teams now hold 3-2-0 records. The Blades return to action Friday when they visit the Brandon Wheat Kings. First face-off is 6 p.m. with CJWW’s broadcast beginning at 5:45. Following is the official game summary courtesy the W-H-L, plus the game highlights and Les Lazaruk’s post-game interview with head coach Brennan Sonne…..
