Two people were taken to hospital with undetermined injuries following a collision at 22nd Street and Diefenbaker Drive, just before 10:40pm.
A pair of fire engines, one rescue unit and the Battalion Chief were dispatched to the scene of the accident involving a semi and an SUV.
It took less than ten minutes to free the male driver and female passenger. The driver side door had to be removed with hydraulic tools while the passenger door was pried open without tools.
Firefighters provided medical care on the scene before the patients were transferred to an ambulance and transported to hospital. The current status of the patients is not known to the Saskatoon Fire Department.
Traffic was detoured last night and early this morning. Saskatoon Police are continuing their accident investigation.
