In a statement for Thanksgiving, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says, “As we recover from the pandemic, we give a heartfelt thanks to countless volunteers, food banks, and charities who lend a hand to help make a better world. We also thank our everyday heroes, from health care workers to members of the Canadian Armed Forces and humanitarian aid workers, who all dedicate their lives to service and help change our world for the better.”
Today (Mon) is also World Mental Health Day. The Prime Minister notes that Canadians have experienced rising levels of depression and anxiety over the past couple of years, and says that’s why the federal government launched the Wellness Together Canada portal and the PocketWell app, to provide free on-demand access to direct counselling, live community support and a network of other mental health resources.
