The government has provided an update on its bargaining with teachers and says teachers are not helping move the process forward.
The government says in regards the Saskatchewan Teachers Federation concern over class size and composition, the minister responsible has created a committee to provide a path forward for the 2020-21 school year but claims the STF has indicated it won’t participate.
The Government Trustee Bargaining Committee also indicates the Teachers Bargaining Committee has turned town the offer of a 15-hundred dollars one time payment to teachers and two per cent salary increases in years 2 and 3.
Previously the STF had indicated that the committee to deal with class size and composition lacks authority and public accountability and sidesteps the issue.
