Creighton RCMP are sending out a warning to the public after 15 break and enters, two robberies and five motor-vehicle thefts. In addition, there were another three attempted motor vehicle thefts, three break and enters involving firearms and one case of arson. These crimes have taken place since October 1st in the Denare Beach and Creighton areas with the majority being reported in the past four days and police believe some are likely related.
RCMP says a second fire was reported to police shortly before 8:00 p.m. on Friday night and the Creighton Fire Department found a deceased person – whose identity has not been confirmed – located inside the home on Spruce Street in Denare Beach.
Creighton RCMP will continue to work with the Saskatchewan Coroners Service to determine if the death is considered suspicious in nature. Investigators are also working to determine whether this fire is connected to previously reported incidents and are working with the Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency to determine the cause.
“We want the public to be informed of the recent increased calls for service in our detachment area,” says Sgt. Kelly Dinsdale, Creighton RCMP Detachment Commander. “We are asking members of the public to ensure their residences, outbuildings and vehicles are locked. We are actively investigating these incidents and to assist with our investigation, we are asking the public to please report all suspicious persons or activity to police immediately.”
