The southwest corner of the province has a snowfall warning from Environment Canada with 10 to 15 cm expected beginning tonight (Sat) and continuing through Sunday. Plus stron NE winds, which could reduce visibility. The snow will begin to taper off overnight tomorrow night. About 15 cm are expected over Cypress Hills, but surrounding areas will receive less.
Otherwise there is a special weather statement for the south and then rising northwards diagonally towards the Manitoba border, including Humboldt Wynyard, Hudson Bay and Porcupine Plain areas and everything else south of that. Rain today, but progressively changing to wet snow from west to east over the weekend, beginning in the southwest tonight. Environment Canada says it’s hard to measure snowfall amounts because it will be melting and west snow compacts. In general, expect 2 to 10 cm by the end of the day Sunday, with the highest amounts around Cypress Hills, and as mentioned before, strong, gusty winds.
