An interim lawyer has been obtained for Greg Fertuck after Justice Richard Danyluck approved requests from Fertuck’s two lawyers, Morris Bodnar and Mike Nolan, to withdraw from the case. Fertuck is charged with first degree murder and indignity to human remains in connection to the death of his estranged wife, 51 year old Sheree Fertuck, who has been missing since December of 2015.
Fertuck was arrested in 2019, and after a COVID-1 outbreak delay last March, there were a series of voir dires in September about whether evidence related to a Mr. Big sting would be admissible. The decision was to have been announced in January, but then in August defence sounsel found out that Fertuck had complained about them to the Law Society, and that’s what today’s court appearance was about. A case management hearing is scheduled for November 18th.
