At the final regular-season PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Canada Cup Series, presented by Wrangler, event of 2022 in Saskatoon, Lonnie West of Cadogan, Alberta delivered a perfect 3-for-3 effort at SaskTel Centre. West won the Saskatoon Classic. He wrapped up his night aboard Phantom Fury (Wild Hoggs Bucking Bulls) and logged the high-marked ride of the event, scoring 89.5 points to clinch the event victory.
Dakota Buttar from Eatonia, Saskatchewan also went 3-for-3 to finish second in the battle for the 2022 PBR Canada Championship. Aaron Roy of Yellowgrass came in fourth for the Saskatoon event. Another Saskatchewan contender rounded out the top five and that was Chad Hartman from Lancer. Silvana Alves who is from Brazil, competing for the third time on Canadian soil, came in third for the night.
Dakota Buttar’s performance garnered 84.5 national points and he is now number one in Canada. For his efforts, Lonnie West collected a crucial 90.5 Canadian points. He rose from No. 9 to No. 7 in the national standings, now within 101.5 points of the No. 1 rank.
