Two teens are facing charges in relation to the alleged robbery of a woman and assault on a police officer. Around 4:30 Thursday afternoon, officers responded to the 300 block of Ruth Street. A woman reported being approached by two people as she came out of her residence who threatened her with bear spray before leaving with her purse, car keys and cell phone. The suspects were tracked down on the 19 hundred block of Lorne Avenue and, while trying to make an arrest, police say the 17 year old boy ran off and, during a short foot chase, deployed bear spray at one of the office. He was taken into custody by another officer. A 15 year old girl was arrested and is alleged to have been concealing a knife in her waistband. The pair are charged with Robbery, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, and Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose. The boy is also charged with Assaulting a Peace Officer.
