Halloweening for Hunger, the long-standing tradition of Greater Saskatoon Catholic Schools’ students collecting non-perishable food for the Saskatoon Food Bank & Learning Centre, will continue this Halloween.
A number of schools throughout the school division will be going door-to-door collecting food. Students at St. Joseph High School will once again lead the charge. Over the course of 16 years, St. Joseph students have collected over 160,000 pounds, or 72,575 kilograms, of food. Other schools have added tens-of-thousands of pounds to that total.
Saskatoon residents are asked to donate non-perishable food as students go door-to-door the evening of October 31. Residents can also leave their donation outside with the informational flyer that students dropped off earlier or note that the package is intended for the food drive.
