The Payee Disclosure Report was also released today. The report indicates the total amount paid to the over 11,000 employees of Saskatchewan’s Crown Corporations for the 2021-22 fiscal year was slightly over $1-billion, which is a 3.9 per cent increase over the year previous, due to economic adjustments included in collective bargaining agreements and the resumption of SaskGaming operations after public health orders were lifted.
The Crown corporations also provided $21.5 million to urban and rural municipalities in grants-in-lieu of property taxes to improve local infrastructure and services. Minister of Crown Investments Corporation Don Morgan says, “Through quality and cost-effective services to homes, businesses and industries, goods and services purchased from suppliers and direct investments into local communities, the Crown sector continues to be a driving force behind the province’s growth, supporting Saskatchewan’s high quality of life.”
