You have got to ask for it. That’s the message behind a campaign from Sexual Assault Services of Saskatchewan and Rebellion Brewing about sexual consent.
SASS spokesperson, Ashley Kilback, points to a Statistics Canada report which says one in three women and one in six men in this country will be sexually assaulted in their lifetime.
Kilback says instead of the old line “No means no,” their consent campaign takes that very serious subject and tries to make it more of a conversation starter using the hashtag #AskForIt. The posters and coasters feature Canada Geese and tongue in cheek statements like, “Don’t flock around without consent.”
The campaign is rolling out in bars, restaurants and hospitality spaces across the province. Kilback hopes ASK FOR IT will encourage people to have healthy conversations around sex and consent in a fun way that gets the point across.
