A fire that happened at a duplex at 1819 Avenue D North Saturday afternoon is considered suspicious.
Around 2:30, fire crews responded to the blaze. Once they arrived they found heavy smoke and flames coming from the side of the duplex.
Residents of 1819 had self-evacuated before crews arrived, while occupants in 1821 had to evacuated by be fire and police personnel on scene.
Firefighters had the fire under control in about 20 minutes.
In a news release, the Saskatoon Fire Department says there was extensive damage to the kitchen as well as heat and smoke damage to the rest of the duplex.
No injuries were reported and the fire is still under investigation. No damage estimate has been given at this time.
