A warrant has been issued for the arrest of 39-year-old Darcel Burns of the James Smith Cree Nation.

Burns is charged with one count of using an imitation firearm to commit an offense, one count of assault with a weapon and one count of uttering threats.

Melfort RCMP responded to a call from the James Smith Cree Nation just after 4:30 last Friday afternoon. An investigation determined a man went to a home and threatened the occupants with a weapon believed to be an air rifle. An adult was assaulted and sustained non-life threatening injuries.

RCMP are looking for Darcel Burns, who is six foot four and weighs 265 pounds. He was last seen driving a black pickup truck.
