The Saskatoon Hilltops once again are nationals champions following an 11-6 win over the Langley Rams in the Canadian Bowl Saturday.
The win marks the 6th straight national championship won by the Hilltops. Saskatoon now has a record 22 Canadian Bowl titles to its name.
In a game dominated by the defense, it was the toe of Rylan Klieter that lead the Hilltops to victory. The kicker made second quarter field goals from 21 and 23 yards out and with the game on the line in the 4th quarter, he hit a 30-yarder to lead his team to victory.
The Hilltops secured the victory without scoring a touchdown.
Toppers running back Ben Abrook was named the most outstanding player on offense for the game. He rushed the ball 27 times for 130 yards.
Defensive lineman Tristan Hering was named defensive player if the game. He had 2.5 sacks.
The Hilltops entered the national title game with an 11-0 record in 2019 while riding a 30-game win streak that dates back to the 2017 season.
