The Regina Police Service is investigating the circumstances of an explosion that destroyed an unoccupied home in the 1200 block of Retallack Street on Sunday morning. Regina Fire and Protective Services has stated that the building had a compromised gas line, but an ignition source couldn’t be found. The Police Service says in an email, it’s their role to determine through investigation if there is any criminal aspect, so anyone with information is asked to contact them or Crime Stoppers. Along with the home being demolished, the neighbouring apartment complex also needs to be torn down because of structural damage.
