An RCMP Police dog likely saved the life of a man in Humboldt on Friday, November 11th.
Around 1:15 a.m., RCMP received a report of an unwanted person at a home in Humboldt. By the time officers arrived, the man had left. It was determined the man was breaching court-ordered conditions.
Officers located him nearby—but he ran away even though he was not dressed properly for the minus 20 conditions.
Police Service Dog Nazz and his handler from Melfort were brought in. The team located the man who was calling for help near some trees around 4 a.m. that same morning.
RCMP say the man was showing signs of medical distress due to the cold. He was taken to hospital for treatment. He was later charged with resisting arrest and breaching probation and then released for court at a later date.
