Medavie Health Services West is launching a new pilot project where if you see an abandoned vehicle and it has Blue Medavie Health Services West tape on it, then paramedics have been on scene and dealt with the situation. That means there is no need to call 911.
Medavie Director of Public Affairs says the pilot project started in Saskatoon and Moose Jaw today (weds) to help reduce the number of false calls they respond to in cold weather.
Troy Davies says, “Anytime we have paramedics on a highway or road with oncoming traffic there is a potential risk, reducing the number of times this occurs is a priority.”
Medavie got the idea from its colleagues in Nova Scotia who launched this program in 2018.
