Russia needs to understand there is no path forward and Canada will continue to stand by Ukraine. That from Prime Minister Justin Trudeau as he spoke at an international news organization’s annual conference. He told the attendees of the Reuters conference that until Russia sees it cannot and must not be able to benefit from disrupting prosperity and stability that has come with peace and order, there is no place for it as a constructive partner to anyone.

Trudeau pointed to European companies trying to move away from their reliance on Russia’s oil and gas.  In the short term, he says, Canada can help by injecting more oil and gas in the global marketplace, but as countries move toward net zero carbon emissions, this country can also be a reliable supply for clean energy.
He listed hydrogen power, carbon capture usage and storage and various green innovations the federal government is investing in.

Trudeau added that Canada has the critical minerals needed for clean energy like lithium and cobalt as the world moves to a higher tech and cleaner future.
The Prime Minister stated that authoritarian regimes aren’t reliable trade partners and countries should look to Canada as a dependable supplier of energy and critical minerals related to green energy production.
