The COVID-19 viral load in Saskatoon’s wastewater is down for the third week in a row, but it continues to rise Prince Albert and North Battleford. according to the weekly report from the Global Institute for Water Security on the USask campus. Professor John Giesy suggests that Saskatoon may have reached its peak of the small wave associated with a sub-variant of Omicron, while the other two cities haven’t reached theirs yet, because typically Saskatoon is a few weeks ahead in the COVID trends.

In Saskatoon, the viral load is down 54 per cent in the week leading up to November 30th. North Battleford’s viral load has risen almost 154 per cent and Prince Albert’s is up 81 per cent in the last week. In all three cities, the viral load is considered medium.
