The CEO of the Greater Saskatoon Chamber of Commerce says they have created an online market hub promoting local businesses.
Jason Aebig says just a 10% shift in spending with local businesses can make a huge difference.
“This is a time of year a lot of families, a lot of workplaces are going to spend money to celebrate the season. It is always a good reminder to try and be intentional to shift that spending locally as much as possible when we know those dollars recirculate in our economy and have a huge impact when it comes to jobs and incomes here at home.”
The online hub is www.totallylocally.ca. The campaign will run until the end of December however, the online market hub is updated and available year-round. The site makes it easy to search and connect with area businesses by providing a consolidated listing of their e-commerce and web links, physical locations, and videos of the people behind the products and service.
