Crews continue securing the site of two apartment fires in Yorkton from Monday and Tuesday morning.

Fire chief Trevor Morrissey expects investigators will be able to access the rubble in the next day or two. Crews were first called out Monday night to one fire, and extinguished it, but were back Tuesday morning to a different blaze. An explosion in the 2nd floor resulted in two firefighters having minor injuries, and Morrissey says there are indications the structure was broken into before the second fire. He also says a gas line that ruptured Tuesday has been capped, and is no longer an issue.
